TI winners got sent to DPC Division II

Team Liquid delivered the decisive loss to Nigma Galaxy, on the fifth week of the Dota Pro Circuit Spring Tour to hand them a trip down to Division 2 for the Summer Tour.

The Spring Tour spelt a complete disaster for Nigma Galaxy, who are the first team in the Western Europe league to relegate to Division 2. They do so with a devastating 0-6 losing streak after falling to all competitors in the league but Team Secret, which they haven’t faced yet.

Heading into what was a decisive series against Team Liquid on the fifth week of the league schedule, Nigma Galaxy announced a last minute stand-in as their carry, Igor "iLTW" Filatov went “on a break.” They went for some lane swaps to accommodate Tundra Esports’s former captain Adrian "Fata" Trinks.

For game one, Fata went mid lane on a Pangolier, while the carry duties were fulfilled by Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi. Nigma’s plan for the opening match relied on team fights.

They aligned a Tiny carry with an Undying - Keeper of the Light support duo and a Tidehunter. In theory, they had all the tools to keep Liquid controlled. However, they played into a heavily mobile and elusive Storm Spirit - Mirana combo and an impossible to take down carry Necrophos.

Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen’s game one Necro 23/0/9 K/D/A performance brought a very convincing win for Liquid and put Nigma one game away from relegation. Unfortunately for the latter, not even a Miracle Medusa was enough to keep them afloat.

While for Nigma, there is no stake left to play for in the Spring Tour, for Team Liquid today’s victory puts them one step closer to the Stockholm Major. They sit for now on a 4-2 series record and have one more match-up to prepare for.

Team Liquid vs Gladiators will close the Western Europe regional league division 1, next week on the 20th of April.
